What This Is
What This Is
Not A Loneliness Fix
Modern life has made being alone with yourself almost impossible. You’re surrounded by people, noise, and stimulation. And still feel a quiet, persistent loneliness you can’t explain.
This retreat doesn’t fix your loneliness by filling you up. It teaches you how to be genuinely, peacefully alone. With yourself, with silence, with whatever you’ve been avoiding.
The problem isn’t that you’re alone. It’s that you’ve forgotten how to be.
The Programme
Three Days. Four Sessions.
One Individual Conversation.
Thursday Evening
Arrival & Setting The Container
Welcome dinner. Opening circle. Group agreements established. No icebreakers. Just an honest conversation about what brought each person here, and what they’re hoping will shift.
Friday
Silence, Science & The First Confrontation
The neuroscience of stillness. Why your brain resists doing nothing, and what happens when you let it.
Saturday
Productivity Culture, Fomo & Difficult Emotions
The most demanding work of the weekend. Deep experiential work on loneliness and the emotions we carry. Then a game that reveals how productivity culture keeps us running.
Sunday
Integration & The Relational Turn
Practical tools for integration. A closing circle. The teaching most people don’t expect: you can’t heal loneliness by becoming more self-sufficient. Sustainability is relational.
Each guest also receives one 30-minute individual therapy session with Ucman, using the Wajd approach.

Who Are Done Pretending They're Fine
Done Pretending
You're Fine
Finance, law, tech, consulting, creative industries. What brings people here is not their industry — it’s the pattern.
- You’re exhausted but your brain won’t let you stop
- Rest triggers guilt. Silence triggers anxiety.
- You’ve tried the apps, the retreats, the morning routines
- You’re done with toxic positivity and being told to “just be grateful”
- You want to actually feel things — not just manage them
- You’re ready to stop performing wellness and start practising it

The Setting
The Setting
Lubborn House, Somerset
Lubborn House is a Grade II listed country home in Baltonsborough, Somerset. Five miles from Glastonbury, set down a quiet lane and surrounded by acres of mature gardens, fields, and woodland.
The kind of genuine stillness that’s increasingly rare, and essential for the depth of work this retreat requires. Close enough to get to. Far enough to feel like somewhere else entirely.
Every meal is prepared by a private chef cooking live. Locally sourced, seasonal, eaten communally. The table is where the retreat continues.

This retreat was designed from the inside out — by someone who burned out, stepped away, and then spent years understanding why stillness felt so threatening. The psychotherapy training came later. But it answered the same question.
