What is a travel concierge or travel advisor?

A travel concierge is a personalised travel designer who works for you, unlike a travel agent who works for a supplier. I work directly with you to understand your needs, interests and travel style to create a perfect experience for you and your travel companions.

Are you a travel agency?

Yes and no. Brown Boy Travels Shop is a fully registered travel business with the legal and professional set-up of a travel agency. But I don't sell packages or pre-assembled deals in the traditional sense. I work directly for you, designing bespoke wellness travel experiences around your specific needs, goals and life context.

How does the travel planning process work?

You start by booking a consultation with me via the website. During this session, we'll explore your wellness goals, travel preferences and any specific requirements. After the call, I'll send you a proposal. Once you're happy with the direction, I begin designing your travel experience.

How much do you charge?

A consultation fee applies, which will be confirmed at the time of booking. For complex itineraries or multi-destination wellness journeys, a planning fee may also apply. All fees are discussed and agreed upfront with full transparency.

What is your cancellation and deposit policy?

What kind of wellness goals do you work with?

I work with a wide range of goals including chronic stress and burnout recovery, sleep disorders, anxiety, low mood, hormonal health including PCOS and menopause, weight management, anti-ageing and longevity, mental clarity, digital detox, grief and loss, and general physical and emotional rejuvenation.

Can you help with mental health retreats or emotional wellness?

Yes. As an advanced integrative psychotherapy trainee, I have genuine insider knowledge of what good therapeutic support looks like in a travel context. I offer access to emotional healing retreats and therapeutic experiences that are safe, held with care, and designed for real transformation.

What is included in the retreat fee?

The retreat fee covers accommodation, all meals, the full programme of sessions, and a private one-to-one Wajd session. Travel to and from the venue is not included and is the responsibility of each guest.

When is the remaining balance due?

The full balance of the retreat fee must be paid no later than 45 days before the retreat start date. If the balance is not received by this date, your place may be released and the deposit forfeited.

Is the retreat deposit refundable?

Can I transfer my place to a different retreat date?

Yes. If you're unable to attend your booked date, you may transfer your place to another available date, subject to availability. Please contact me as early as possible.

Can I reschedule my retreat place?

You may reschedule up to twice, provided you give at least 24 hours notice before the retreat start date. Requests made with less than 24 hours notice cannot be accommodated and the deposit will be forfeited.

What happens if I don't attend without notice?

If you don't attend and haven't given prior notice, your deposit is forfeited and your place cannot be transferred or refunded.

How many guests attend each retreat?

Retreats are intentionally small, with a maximum of eight guests, to ensure depth of experience and individual attention throughout.

Is there a minimum age to attend a retreat?

Yes. Retreats are open to participants aged 18 and over only.

Do I need to disclose any health conditions before booking a retreat?

Yes. You are required to disclose any significant physical or mental health conditions before confirming your booking. This information is treated in strict confidence and is used only to ensure the retreat is appropriate and safe for you.

WAJD is a private, one-to-one reflective session offered during or after travel. It creates a confidential space to process what the experience has brought up, without roles, noise or expectation. It is not therapy but draws on similar principles of presence, attentiveness and non-judgement.

Is WAJD the same as therapy?

No. WAJD is a reflective, person-centred experience, not a clinical intervention. Ucman is an advanced integrative psychotherapy trainee, and that informs the quality and depth of the space he holds. But WAJD is not a substitute for therapy.

Is there a minimum age for WAJD sessions?

Yes. WAJD sessions are available to participants aged 18 and over only.

Can you help plan accessible travel for people with disabilities?

Yes. Whether it's mobility needs, sensory sensitivities or medical equipment, every aspect is planned with thoughtful accommodations to ensure ease and dignity.

Do you offer LGBT+ affirmative travel and retreats?

Yes. LGBT+ affirmative travel and retreat experiences are offered where safety, inclusion and authenticity are built into every element of the journey.

Can you design adventure travel?

Yes. As a certified scuba diver and freediver, I specialise in combining wellness with adventure, from diving with thresher sharks to hiking through sacred mountains.

Notes from sessions, where kept, are stored securely and are not accessible to any third party. Clients may request deletion of session notes at any time.

No credit card or payment card data is stored on our systems at any time.

Session notes from WAJD or consultation sessions are retained for a maximum of one year unless the client requests earlier deletion.
